Litz/Fiber Covered Wire :

Litz wire is specilized type of high frequency wire used in electronics and components such as transformers, inductors, lighting ballasts, relays, inverters, power supplies, motors , communications equipment, medical devices, ultra-sonic equipment, consumer electronics, and heat induction equipment as well as a host of other specilized applications. Litz constructions consist of multiple thin wires, individually coated with an insulating film and twisted or woven together.

The term litz wire originates from Litzendraht, German for bundled/woven wire.

At Sunshine Wire we have been manufacturing Litz and specialized wire for over 25 years. We stock UL approved Enamel/Magnet Wire in a variety of temperature classes and coatings and can offer specialilzed coatings on request. We offer stock designs but also can manufacture Litz based on our customers requirement or application.

We quote in served and unserved configurations and offer a long list of serving materials such as Dupont Teflon ( FEP, ETFE, PFA), Nomex Wrap, Yarn, PVC and Kevlar.

Tinsel wire :

Tinsel wire is a form of electrical wire used when maximum mechanical flexibility is required. Applications include handset cords, medical apparatus, head phones, testing equipment and speaker voice coils . Because of its extreme flexibility, it is very resistant to failing as a result of metal fatigue.

Tinsel wire is manufactured by wrapping several strands of thin copper or copper foil around a textile core such as Kevlar. Because the conductor is very thin, its is extremely flexible. Meanwhile, the fabric core provides high tensile strength.

We can custom make tinsel for any application and can work with customers to prototye and develop Tinsel for their products and custom applications.
